I needed to move quickly and needed help moving. Carine Gall from Transworld Movers e-mailed me and gave me an estimate for a move from California to Montana for 680 cu ft. At 3.50 per cu ft. She did not tell me that any overage would be charged at 5.00 per cu ft. The movers were supposed to arrive Jan 19, but called to say their truck broke down and they would be there the following day. I was told by Carine and the driver, Alex Jiminez that my belongings would be delivered to Montana in 7-10 days and that they were going up with a load to Colorado and would come right up after that.

On January 30 I called them having not heard from any one, and it was now 10 days. I was advised by "Lee" at Transworld that Carine was no longer with the company and she gave me a number to call to talk to "Ralph" or "Ash". (954-343-0418). I called and was informed by Tony who represented himself as Ralph's assistant that "per the law" they had to charge extra for the overage.

The charges were increased from the estimate of $2455.00 to $4405.00—after all of the stuff was in the truck. He also informed me that my belongings would not be there for 10-14 days. I then called the number for Advanced moving and was given the same number as for Transworld and Ralph answered. He said that they had to charge the extra but when asked to fax the tariff page to me, did not do so. He also told me, when I advised him that I was giving him a chance to rectify the matter before going to the Feds, "then come pick up your stuff yourself" and hung up.

Prior to hanging up on me, he also informed me that it was 10-14 "business days". I had moved up to Montana to start a job, was sleeping on the floor, had no dishes or anything else with me.

On February 6 (14th businsess day) I called Transworld and was again referred by Lee to the number above and was told by Ralph that he would no know about the move but "maybe" my stuff would arrive next "Tues or Wed or the next day".

I then called back and asked for Leslie who I was told dealt with complaints. She, upon questioning said she was employed by Transworld. She got Ash on the phone who refused to give me his last name and said that he worked for Advanced Moving. When asked why Leslie worked for Transworld and he worked for Advanced, he replied, "she's in another department". He then said he would call and let me know "today or tomorrow" when I could expect delivery, but said that the truck had broken down.

A co-worker found a similar report on the internet from Michelle in Aiken, south Carolina so I had to write my report here. Do not let anyone from TransWorld or Advanced moving mover you!

Do not let this happen to you. If anyone has had their belongings returned, please let me know how. I have no idea where my belongings even are at this point.
