Verizon Superpages.com Knowingly selling deceptive advertisements to fake companies & scam companies rip-off DFW Airport

I notified Verizon because they were selling and displaying ads for a company with numerous fake names.in Maryland alone, this company has over 27 aliases. Other consumers have notified Verizon on this company in the past, yet they are still maintaining these ads and adding to them. This company has full page ads with these fake names. All the ads include the same numbers and/or addresses. It would be impossible for Verizon not to know this.

Verizon finally replied to my e-mail yesterday. This email stated that they would request the companies name and phone number and make a note of this complaint in their account, and will question them at the next years issue of their phone book. They said the only thing I could do was to notify the BBB. And we all know the BBB covers these companies up.

I sent a reply e-mail back and told them that it was impossible for them not to know they were displaying and selling ads to fake companies, not to mention others have complained about them in the past and they still are selling thm advertisements. I also asked for the supervisor's name and address becasue this was not a situation for customer service to handle. I told them that their way of answering this was unacceptable.

Needless to say, I received another e-mail from Verizon this morning. They state, "If another business practice made the same claims against your business, be rest assured that we would not act against you as you have asked us to act against them." Then it goes on to say, "We are not responsible for policing the validity of the text provided. If any legal action occurs, it will fall against the advertiser for providing deceptive claims, not the medium (yellow pages, newspapers, radio, etc.) used to convey that message."

You've got to be kidding me. It's supossed to be ok for them to knowingly sell these ads, but they don't take any responsibility. I don't think so. I replied again and demanded the supervisor's name and address. Not one time did Verizon bother to sign any of these e-mails to I would know who made contact. Nice, huh?

I will keep this report updated an what we do and how we handle this ongoing situation.
