Columbia House ripped me off so big. I joined the club thinking it would be a good thing. I got my first 4 movies, then received the infamous card in the mail. I called the 800-642 number to make sure I did not get the directors cut which I did not want.
I also some how got a live person on the line who said it was checked for me to receive and I would be billed. He assured me he would make sure it did not ship. Low and behold my credit card was charged and the item delivered to my home. After trying to reach them unsuccessfully through their automated line I faxed them 50 times the same message over and over. No response.
A bit of an inconvenience but I cancelled the credit card and followed it up with that statement and that anything they sent in the future I would not be responsible for. I also put that note in the mail to them to cover myself. I will be glad to send back the 5 movies they sent as long as they pay the freight.
Otherwise I will keep them. Don't sign up as long as they have your card number they will continue to bill you for a movie every month.
