In october I took my 14kt diamond ring in to have one of the seven diamonds replaced that has fallen out. A that time alvins gave me a estimate for the value of my ring of $1000.00 the then sent the ring off to be repaired it cost me $140.00 for the diamond.
A month later the diamond they replaced turned yellow and cracked down the middle. So I then returned it to alvins at that time the manager looked at the stone a stated it they used a lower quality diamond and have recently switched jewelery repaires. So it was sent off again
After getting it back almost a month of waiting. A week & a half later only my 3rd time wearing it the one next to it fell out. I found this very odd being how this ring was given to me by my mother she wore it for years with any problems! (Jewelers job security, my opinion)
So I then returned to alvins and discussed the problem with the manager. So it was sent off again. The ring was due back on 1/5/03 so when i went to pick up the ring i was told it was not ready the jeweler did not have the right size diamond.
I then called 1/21/03 to see if the repair was complete. I then went to pick up my ring at that time I noticed CZ on the receipt. So I stated to sales associate I hope they didn't put a CZ in my ring!
At that time I spoke to the manager AGAIN she then stated, I told him to replace it with what ever it was in there prior. However the receipt SHE printed out for repair order said replace with CZ.
So i proceded to ask her why they would put a CZ in a $1000.00 diamond ring (their own appraisal) prior to any repairs being done. She then said three of the stones are CZ. How ironic I went from $1000.00 ring to having three CZ & they repaired it three times Hmmmmm?
I then called corperate office I was basically told. My side of the story was hearsay. I have no written proof they keep all the receipts when you pick up your repairs... However they would refund my $140.00
Now if you think about it thats not bad I paid that for 1 & they got three. What a deal they got
I could of got better service at a local pawn shop!!!
