We just received a "past due" invoice FAXED to us from Ameri-Source. (of course, no return fax number on it!) It looked fishy so I called the phone number on the fax. Talked to a very rude man named Henry (I'm sure that's not his real name) and when I politely asked him to fax me a copy of the original invoice and contract, he immediately started interrupting me and talking in circles.
I'm a strong believer in following my intuition and there were red flags just popping up all over. I could barely get a word in edgewise and he told ME that I was being rude! Henry is a classic example of a scam artist, talking in circles, trying to get you discombobulated, trying to convince you (the consumer/customer) that HE is right and you are wrong... Shifting the blame on to you in order to confuse you and steer you away from the original intent of your call to him.
Eventually, he said he would fax the original invoice and contract to me "tomorrow". I have no doubt that I will never see that invoice/contract. Next, I went to google.com and put in the company name and came up with this site (thank you! —you're providing a wonderful service!) and also other very interesting information on these scammers (Ameri-Source).
We have no intention of paying this nearly $300 bill for something we did not authorize. With all the evidence and complaints filed, why can't these scammers be put out of business? The people behind this scam should be thrown in jail for a long time AND fined or made to pay restitution, especially to the non-profits that they have scammed over the years. How do these people sleep at night?
I firmly believe in the old saying that "what goes around, comes around" and that— someday —when they least expect it, the scammers will get their just reward. And I will be laughing.
