My father and I were living in Illinoise back in 2002 when this all started. We thought we had a great invention and apparently they did too. We were informed that we needed to pay $900.00 up front to do a patent search, which we paid. After the search came back clear and all was OK to start the invention we received our "blue book" of our invention and we were told that it would be shown in trade shows and prospect people that were intrested would start to invest in the invention.
About one month later, we were told to further the invention we had to pay another $1000.00 for the next step or process. At this point I asked my mother to loan us the money by putting it on her credit card and it was paid in full.By now we were expecting a lot more progress than what we received. All we had was that blue book from the first office meeting we attended. After that it was just promising phone calls that ended in "we need more money."
Some time has passed, our family has moved to IA, and we were making monthly payments to them anywhere from $200 to $350 a month. It has been almost a year, my father has become very ill, but yet they were willing to accept any kind of partial payment. Even up to this time, we still have not heard of any progress on our invention, just money going out. As my father became more sick and bedridden, we could no longer afford the payments to them. My fathers precious life was way more important to our family.
At this point all payments we had planned have stopped. Even though we have called them numerous times telling them of my fathers health, they never ceased to ask for more payments. Soon threatening letters came claiming to report us to the credit bureaus and their collection accounts.
It is now 2008 and we are still receiving those same letters from 2004 and so on. They will not give up.in this time my brother has passed away as well, and we have been paying funeral costs for him. We are no longer able to give these people any more of our hard earned precious money. We have nothing to show for it except their harrassment.
