I was first contacted in October by a sales representative from Pin Point Marketing selling advertising spots for one of the local school sports schedules. It just happened to be the high school that my child attended (I wonder how they find out this information???). I agreed after hearing what I would receive to purchase a 3x4 ad for the spring schedule for $100.00. I was told that I would receive an email of my ad prior to publishing for my approval, some of the schedules for me to hand out personally, and that the school and area businesses would also receive some of the schedules. I was billed on my credit card for the $100.00
In January I was contacted once again to purchase an ad for the fall sports schedule for the same school I had commited to in the spring. I was hesitant because I had yet received anything verifying my spring ad. I was told by the representative the company was in the process of designing the ad and I should receive my proof soon. Still being hesitant, they explained they did not want me to lose my spot being the only Realtor advertising on the schedule and then offered me a larger ad for the same amount of $100.00. So I commited and was billed for the ad on my credit card.
I waited for the spring sports schedule to come out and I never received anything. No email, schedules, nothing. I had my child check the school office and they did not have any schedules published by this company in their posession. I then realized that something was wrong and proceeded to call Pin Point Marketing and spoke with someone named Jennifer. I explained to her that I had not received what I had paid for back in October for the spring schedule ad and so I wanted my money back and I wanted to cancel the order I had been contacted to place in January for the fall ad since I had not received my first ad. They mailed me a copy of my two invoices along with a cancellation/exchange policy form to fill out for my refunds. I filled out the form with full explanation as to why I wanted a refund on both ads. I did not hear from anyone for some time so called to check and see if they had received my paperwork.
I spoke again to Jennifer and she told me it could take 60 to 90 days to process my paperwork for refund. I waited the 60 days and called again and spoke to Jennifer and she said she still did not have the paperwork back from her superiors. I waited the full 90 days plus before calling my last time. I spoke to Jennifer again and explained that I had done what was asked and waited my time and still had not received my refund. Her explantation to me again was she had not received the paperwork or permission to send me my refund.
I had sort of been putting this on back burner not know where to go from there until today which is October 13. I just happened to do an internet search on Pin Point Marketing and the first item that came up was "complaint". After reading one gentleman's article that he too had been scammed by the same company, it made me furious. I do have documentation on all that I have said if it is needed for further investigation.
I want others to know that they are not alone. It looks as if there could be a large group of us that have been taken for God knows how much money by these people. I want others to know that we all need to come together to bring people and companies like these to a halt. This is a shame and also a crime!
