I was stranded in lordsburg n.M. After buying a car in phoenix arizona on my way home (n.M.) got a motel and made 2 phone calls, one to the dealer who sold me the car and one to a bmw dealer in el paso (closest one). I pushed O for the operator and asked for these calls to be billed to my home phone, i asked what was the cheapest way to do this and was informed that my credit card was the cheapest. Ha! Lieing woman. I was charged $22.35 to call el paso for a couple of mins. And $23.50 to call the dealer in phoenix, also a few mins. The operator also connected me to a wrong area code (626 instead of 602) and i was charged $22.35 for that too! (this lasted about 10 secs.) at no time was i told that this was a private company charging outrageous fees for the connection, i thought i was connected to the local phone company. These people should be taken out and shot for blatantly ripping-off unsuspecting consumers. $68.20 for three calls, it would have been cheaper if i had called collect.
