I was mislead by a smooth talking person, who stated I would receive a visa credit card with a credit limit of $2500.00 for $200.00 from my checking account. I repeatedly asked this person if it was a visa that could be used at stores and was told yes. A woman got on the telephone to verify my information - you know my name, address, social, bank info.
I asked her the name of the card and she stated that the card would be a preferred merchants card. I assumed this was the bank providing the visa. How wrong was I! When I received this book of junk, knick-knacks with a card that did not have the visa logo on it I immediately called them.
The woman obviously knew why I was calling for her words were rehearsed. She knew they had ripped me off! I demanded my money back as well as to speak with a supervisor. She flat out refused, but did allow me to hear the recorded info between me and the verifier.
I've been ripped off! Never again will I agree to anything over the telephone - even if my life depended on it! Consumers beware! I will pursue this issue, which of course, will be time consuming as well as costly, if I get an attorney. How dare them take advantage of us!
