When we moved into their property 1810 Widgeon Rd. We explained that we were military members and that we would be required to moved out in six months. When the 6 months were up, I received orders to Bangor, Wa to leave on November 16. As requested by P and L, I sent a copy of my orders along with our Keys, and a check for $215. P and L told me that since we were leaving in the middle of the month, that we owed half a months rent (although we had already paid all of novembers rent, we were asked to pay half of decembers), which is $215. After about 2 weeks had passed, I called (they did not contact me) to find out if they had received our check. They said no, and said that they do not receive mail at that address (627 Old Trolley Rd
Summerville, SC 29485) and that i should send a check to their PO box. So, I mailed another check for $215 to the PO box, assuming the previous check would be sent back to me. Recently, December 4th, my checking account over drafted because both checks were cashed by P and L property. When I called to clear up what I had assumed was a mistake, I was not only told that they were not going to give my money back, but I was also insulted. The contact, Ms Rachel R Lindsay, was extremely rude, and when I confronted her about knowingly cashing a check that she should not have cashed, she responded that the conversation was going nowhere and wanted to hang up. We have not received our deposit, nor a receipt explaining any of the charges. The total deposit was $2250, for which they claim to use to steam clean the carpet, repair a hinge on a screen door, and move furniture (a small pool table up one flight of stairs). When I mentioned that those things would not cost $2250, Rachel responded sarcastically, " I am glad you know so much about this, but I am a professional in the business so I know what it costs." I truly believe they are stealing this money, and several of our neighbors have warned us about them. She even came into our house at 8pm (I was sleeping) without giving notice and claimed to be checking on a hole in the wall that was fixed weeks before we even moved in! Very unprofessional, rude, untrustworthy. Look them up at the better business bureau, www.bbb.com, search with zip 29461. There are 3 complaints, that they have not responded to. Imagine the amount of people they took advantage of that didnt file a complaint! Please do not let them take advantage of you.
