I received a call 07/29/08 from a Ms. Jackson who left a voice mail on my supervisors extension advising me to call before 12 pm in order to avoid "this" matter from going further. I returned the call promptly as she made it sound like an urgent legal matter. She advised me I had until 12 noon on the same date to come up with $681.50 due to a pay day loan from CashNet USA.
The amount of the loan was for $500.00. This was the first I had heard anything from this debit as I honestly thought i had resolved it. I received no certified mail, no letters or phone calls prior to this call yesterday.
Ms. Jackson went as far as advising me if I did not come up with something towards the amount due (which I offered to pay $100 towards it right then and set up arrangements for the balance) that they would send Law Enforcement to arrest me at my place of work or home.
Can they actually do this?
