On the evening of July 23 I was peacefully watching television with my 11 year old daughter when I received a phone call, and upon looking at my caller ID noticed that it was from a company called Legal Mitigation. Not being familiar with this name, I answered the phone. I was immediately told by the individual on the other end that her name was Brenda Blair, and that she was calling me to remind me of a court hearing scheduled for 9:00 am the following morning regarding a payday loan that was outstanding and that the balance owing was 1100.00 and that I had to pay this amount prior to the 9:00 am court hearing to avoid further legal action (she did everything but come right out and state that someone would be coming to my house, and that a warrant would be issued for my arrest). She then began to rattle off some account numbers and followed up by giving me some information for moneygram saying that this is how the payment had to be sent.
I was a little scared after the call, then got on the phone and tried to call her back using the number from my caller ID. The call did not go through, so I decided to look them up on the internet to find the phone number that way to try and make payment arrangements. Lo and behold
