I am a professional consultant working in the Telecommunications industry. Well, I am for the next two weeks:) While emotionally pensive due to my recent notification of job loss, I uncharacteristically applied to TC Talent for the job of Scout. (I usually spend a fair amount of time researching an organization before applying)
After spending only 30 minutes online. And calling several contacts within the College & University industry... I had my (re) answer.
"Dear Susan,
As a Marketing professional and consultant, I consider myself invariably detailed when it comes to researching an "opportunity."
In this instance, before responding to you originally with an affirmation, I did not follow my usual procedure.
After doing a brief review of your company's past, and current financial and operational practices, I have decided that your company is just one of many organizations that fronts false dreams and unattainable expectations for both your employees and your clients.
As an added note:
I will not be attending the job interview... Besides, we both know I would have gotten the job...
It's all about the numbers.
Sincerely,
XXXXXXXXXX"
