Several of my most expensive furniture was broken, solid teak china cabinet and five chairs

My husband and I contracted with All Pro Movers to move our furniture out of our house in McDonough, GA and put it in storage while we searched for a new home. A little after one month, we found a home in Woodstock, GA.

When the movers showed up at the McDonough home, they came in a Budget rental truck and did not have enough room for all our furniture. Luckily, we had friend with whom we were staying and could put what did not fit in the Budget rental truck in our friend's garage.

Once the movers arrived at our home in Woodstock, four hours late (All Pro claims that they told us they would begin loading at 8:00 AM, not arrive at the Woodstock house at 8:00 AM), we discovered they had broken our most expensive furniture, which we had made sure to insure with All Pro. One leg was broken off a solid teak china cabinet and five out of twelve chairs (also solid teak) were damaged - either the legs were cracked and loose or the backs were cracked. The china cabinet and chairs had traveled all the way from Okinawa, Japan without a scratch and these movers couldn't manage to move these items in one piece for 40 miles!

We have been calling for two weeks and have been given the run-around. The person we need to speak to is always in a meeting, not there, in the bathroom or has a day off and we never, ever receive a call back, despite their assurances that someone will. Our time to submit a claim is thirty days. We were also told that we need to provide All Pro with the paperwork that the driver left us. The driver never left us with any paperwork.

Finally, after about 12 - 14 days, we receive a claim form to fill out from someone named Annette. She sent us a small, handwritten note on a Post-It note and signed only her first name. We filled out the claim form and faxed it at 8:30 in the morning to the number listed on the claim form. My husband called to follow up and was told the fax had not been received. I called All Pro at 3:30 PM, because I had sent the fax and had received a confirmation sheet stating that the fax had gone through to All Pro. I was told that there had been a problem with the fax machine and that the toner cartridge needed to be changed and... Yes, someone would call me back. What business fails to notice that they have not been receiving faxes since 8:30 AM on a Monday morning?

I called back at 4:00, after having re-sent the fax and receiving a confirmation sheet stating that the fax had gone. A different person answers the phone and tells me that Annette is in a meeting and that I will need to speak with her about whether the fax has been received or not, because I am calling a satellite office (I called the same dang number as I did 30 minutes ago, when all Annette did was turn around to check the fax machine) and therefore could not check the fax machine.

My husband decides to go to All Pro's office and talk to someone in person to avoid the run-around treatment we have been getting. When he arrives at the 2300 Holcomb Bridge Road address, lo and behold, it is a UPS store and the "Suite" numbers are really post office box numbers. My husband tries to get a true, physical address from the UPS Store personnel, but is told they cannot give out that information. As he is leaving the UPS Store, he overhead one staff person say to the other, "That's the second person today that has come here to try and find All Pro Movers."

I "google" All Pro movers and find their physical address based on the telephone number and find a second phone number. I call the second phone number and speak with another lady, not Annette. She confirms that the fax with our claim paper work has been received. "I know that for a fact", she stated. I ask her about the status of our claim and am told I need to speak with Annette and that Annette is not in the office, but will return tomorrow.

My husband and I are not trying to get insurance money. My husband was told before All Pro left our house in Woodstock, that they would send someone out to our house to make the repairs to our china cabinet and chairs. The china cabinet and chairs were custom made out of solid teak. They are not truly replaceable. We don't want money, we just want the items repaired. The china cabinet and the chairs are not so badly damaged that they cannot be repaired, but untill they are repaired, they are not usable.

When my husband called initially to set up an appointment to have someone come by and repair our furniture, he was informed that the drive that told him that was new and that they didn't provide that service. Ever since then, we have been getting the run around.

Since then, I have seen several complaints regarding All Pro. The first time we moved to our former house in McDonough, we moved ourselves, so we really weren't familiar with moving companies.

All Pro was not professional and they so far have not responded to us. If we ever move again, we are going to go with Peachtree Movers.
