I came to America in believing strongly in the "American Dream". I work as a Chemistry Teacher in the day, and as a Nurse's aide at night. With a huge family to support back home in Nigeria, i strive to always make ends meet. Redbull North America, through their associate called Creative Concept of America, invented what seemed to be a very lucrative business venture.
I sold my home and in february of i bought 5 Redbull vending machines
at almost $4800 for each machine. I was guaranteed to sell at least 25 cans of the energy drink per week per vending machine, at a cost of $2.25 per can. I did my calculations and the figure i came up with, looked very promising. I was also guaranteed exclusive rights of the business in my county
if i became one of 12 people to sign up for the business. I contacted a John Sostak, paid for the 5 machines. I also paid $1750 to Coastal location Services, which was recommended to me by CCA for the placement of my machines at "high traffic" areas.
When the machines arrived, i was shocked to find out in my first meeting with the local vendor authorized to sell the energy drinks to us, that there were over 25people in the room that had been sold the same "exclusive rights". I was able to locate 2 machines. Of the over 350 cans that can be stored in one machine, i was able to sell less than 50 cans from both machines in over 24month period.
The cost of mentainance outweighed the profits. Labor Direct, in whose premises i had left one of the machines, impounded one machine for what it termed as abandonment. Three machines were fully stacked in my garage that never saw the light of the day. Months later, the only lone machine that had a location was forced to join the rest in my garage due to poor business. My garage floor is mass of solid waste as a result of rupturing due to prolonged heating of cans in the garage.
RBNA AND CCA have reneged in all promises to help me build my business. I feel finanacially raped, abused, destabilized and left at the mercy of the law. 3weeks ago, due to economic hardship, i was forced to resell my machines to RBNA at a paltry sum of $6600. My total loss in this business amounts to over $25000, not to quantify the hardship, stress and pain i have gone through. I still believe in America, and pray justice would its course. All attempts to talk to RBNA has failed, and CCA have criminally filed for banckruptcy to avoid being held responsible in any way, form, or fashion. I have a 30month and a 13month old. Keeping up with their daily needs is a big time struggle for me.
