I live in a condo with 894 square feet, no hot water heating costs, and minimal usage of any other electrical equipment. Average use of a dryer and a TV... That's it. The point is, I haven't changed anything and my bill from Texas Power went from $196.44 in May to $546.00 in June. My KWH useage went from 1349 in May to 2870 in June. The rate jumped to 0.185. I checked my KWH usage from last year... Same company... Same residence, and my June usage was 1609. As a school teacher, I have a tight budget already, but I had no warning of this horrible increase. Plus, the increase in KWH hours doesn't compute. They said they will check my meter, but it will cost me $24.00 if they don't find a problem.
Now, I'm a logical person, so I called some other people. My sister has a 4,000 square foot house with 3 A/C units. The ceilings are 20 feet high and her last bill was in the $300's. Now, does that compute? Something is wrong.

I'm being gouged and something is definintely wrong. All I got was phrases like "well, you may not realize how much electricity you used this last month." I could have cooled the White House for that amount. I checked the meter and the last 4 days show 350 KWH used. Do the math.
350 divided by 4 = 87 KWH approx a day. 87 KWH x 30 days = 2510 x. 185= $464.35 without taxes... See a pattern.
