I requested a "not to exceed bid" by three movers and hired Neighbors based on their bid. At my request, they came to my apartment and viewed the entire load before giving me both a verbal and written bid. However, upon delivery two weeks later, they told me they had underbid and refused to unload the truck until I paid their invoice of almost double the quoted price.
There was substantial damage to several items; for example, one 80 year old wooden rocking chair arrived with both runners smashed off and parts missing. Dressers gouged with drawer pulls broken or missing.
At least five boxes of my belongs are totally missingcontents of one include 100 year old china belonging to my grandmother. Four oak extension boards for my antique table are gone. It's heartbreaking at age 60 to lose items in this manner that you have cared for all your life. I would not recommend these guys to anyone... Ever!
