Advise... Company is refusing to give me my last check

I filed a complaint with this company a few months back regarding them trying to force me to drive illegal. I made a phone call to the safety department of DOT and I was told to never falsify my logs even when they asked me to, and to log what they tell me to do so I have a case against them. He reassured me that I would not be in trouble and that it was proof of what the company has told me to run.

After a month of dealing with what this company dished out to me, (Like calling me on the cell phone only 3 hours into my sleep after driving for 16 hours, chewing me out and asking as to WHY I stopped, why I was not closer to the customer and that I needed to get moving and the other driver call me and tell me to roll my f-ing windows down if I was tired and to keep 2 logs if I was worried about DOT) I told them to shove it, and that she (the dispatcher who is the owners step daughter) didn't know how to run a company and I WILL NOT run that way for them. I turned in the company cell phone, keys and all my logs that showed all the bull I have been made to do all along.

Now nearly a month after quitting that place, I still have NOT gotten my last paycheck from Byrdsway for they are refusing to give it to me.

She tells me with a snide tone that I have to change all of my logs to make them legal before they will give me my check. And it's just "too bad" for me.

She handed me back every log from day one with a list of what was wrong with them and I have to rewrite every one of them per her notes.

Would it be in my best interest to take these logs and the notes to DOT and the board of labor? Any advise about the whole situation would be wonderful.

I do want to mention a few things and have readers keep in mind before saying how stupid I am for running that way for them in the first place. Jobs are pretty much non-existent in my area. Hence is why I went into driving a truck where I have been told there is no shortage and I could point to anywhere on a map and find another job. I'm sorry my beloved friend whom has told me that, that is a LIE.

Out of 200 applications I have put out on the Internet for trucking jobs only five have called me that actually run freight to my area that would hire me but I still had to stay out 3-4 weeks before they could get me home. (England, Werner and Swift to name a few) So when this local job opened up (where I could be home every weekend with my family) every driver within 150 miles applied, some with 20 years of experience, I thought I was blessed for getting chosen and did whatever it took to keep it. At least for a month I did.
