I recently joined the Trans Continental Talent group as a model. Yes, I paid the $795 "one-time" fee, and I am paying the $20.00 a month starting this month. I wish I had read all the postings about how they rip off talents. I obviously would not have paid. I feel sick that I just lost almost a thousand dollars and I'm currently dead broke!
I know that they give you this "time-limit" and pressure you and it's so easy to fall into the trap. I cannot believe there are people who actually work there and make a living like this. How do these people work knowing that they make a living robbing and hurting people this way!
I hadn't gotten a gig yet, so I decided to find my own photographer and I have just sent some photos and a letter of intro. To a bunch of agencies in my area. I should have been smarter and did this to begin with. TCTalent is not an agency and obviously they can't book talents. I'll be waiting a lifetime if I expected them to find gigs for me. I think I will also end up printing comp cards myself, and the digital composites on that site are really useless. I could have made them myself on my own computer. I wish I could get my money back but I know I probably never will. God, I wish I could sue! There are thousands of people out there who got scammed like myself, and I'm sure they have their own stories to tell.
Anyway, I consider this my loss and I hope that I can get enough gigs one day to cover my losses. I feel so awful and foolish.
Does anyone have any recommendation for me? Could I actually sue? I don't remember signing anything... I guess it's too late to get your money back...
