My PR firm was referred to Alex Greene, CEO of Greenestuff, as a potential PR client. After several conversations and the delivery of a 12-page proposal of services, a scope of work and an expectations document, Greene signed a contract with our firm to represent My Bedbugs, an educational childrens television series produced by Greenestuff.
We followed, to the letter, the process we outlined in the My Bedbugs campaign proposal. Also as proposed, we engaged in weekly calls with the designated Greenestuff point of contact, maintaining consistent communications with the company in order to exchange ideas, address issues, and adapt the PR program based on the company's news, events and needs. Throughout the engagement, Greene doled out praise and expressed his confidence in our abilities.
After four weeks of representation, we received a hostile email from Rick Sadlowski, product development / marketing with Greenestuff, someone we had not worked with previously. Per our contract signed by Greene, we considered the email their 30-day termination notice. We made ourselves available to the Greenestuff team during the final 30 days to complete any projects in process, provide digital copies of announcements or pending drafts before closure, and review the circumstances that led to the termination.
We received no payment and no responses to our repeated emails and calls. When Greene eventually answered his phone, he proclaimed that his 'investors' forced Rick Sadlowski to write the termination notice and that payment was pending. Payment was not received.in a subsequent call to Greene, he claimed that his investors had pulled all funding but payment was imminent. The payment didnt arrive.
In investigating Greenestuff further, we found that the company has received representation from a multitude of different people and firms, all in very short increments.
Unfortunately, the creators and producers of a learning TV show for toddlers dont share the ethics they seek to teach young children.
