Ripoff they seem only want my money

I have received a letter from Consumer First company and they told me I have been approved of a Platinum Card. But thay want me to send them the $45.00 membership fee.
I never have the experience of applying credit card, I have arrived in USA just a full month ago, so I don't think much and sent the check.

Later on, I never received the card (I sent the check around 11/2/02), but now it's end of Nov. So I went on web, and check the company, but find no information of this company, I feel very strange...

I check my bank account, send a request to the bank, tell they I want to know the teleno or something else to contact with the company. The bank tell me, they also dont have the teleno or website of this bank.

So strange, I went on web and search again and find this web page. Surely, I have read the complain from others, now, it seems it must be a ripoff company.
I hope I can get money back.
