OK, then.
Answer a question that i never could get a straight answer:
1) Why is there so much emphasis on recruiting and not enough on retention and/or mentoring?
The other point is, and I realize it is a sales job, but I wonder why so many people are leaving UA?
I worked for UA for a few monts. Driving for miles and hours for "let me think about it" was insane. Particularly, when gas money was on my dime.
Training was so so. I had a pile of papers shoved in my face. Had no idea what policy went with what.
There are some agents that do well, but then there are others that struggled.
The leads were not qualified. From what i could ascertain, the telemarketer just asked for a name and address.
You'd get the appointment, but once you get theree, the truth would come out: Couldn't be insured (overweight or drug use).
In my initial interview, I was told that UA's policies "sell themselves". Also, that a 6 figure icome was obtainable in "just a few months".
I WASN'T TOLD how much I would spend! (Gas alone ate me alive). I really
don't know how people are doing the in person appts, particularly in the state that the gas situation is. (Driving for hours across the state or states).
I realize it is a sales job. Whether it is a scam, for sure, I guess depends on your definition.
Personally, I don't think there is enough business for the heavy recruitment that is done.
