I received a quote to move some household goods. The goods were packed and delivered several days after the scheduled delivery date. The excuse the company gave for the delay was their truck broken down. Upon arrival, the moving company wanted payment before the goods would be unloaded. The cost was over double the amount originally quoted. I was told the additional costs included a 3-day delay in delivery because their truck broken down. When I refused to pay the additional costs, they refused to unloaded my furniture until the new price was paid. Additionally and to add insult to injury, valuable, irreplaceable jewelry was noticed missing from the house shortly after the movers departed. They even expected tips.
