I needed business cards printed so I went to the nearest printing place by my home, I am usually the "researcher" for anything I buy but I was in a hurry and thought what the heck how hard is it to print cards up? I bought in a disk with the layout and graphics that I needed and gave the employee there the better judgement to do what she needed for them to come out decent. After I returned to pick them up and $50 dollars later (for only 250 cards) I realized that printing cards was not as easy as I thought it would be, at least for this "professional" printing company. The cards looked like crap, they were blurry, discolored and they did not even have smooth cut edges. I made a comment on the way they looked but I was on my way to the airport so I left it at that and figured I would call them when I returned home.
After I got back home a few days later, one of my employees, who I had given the same disk I used to print up cards, showed me the cards that Staples had done for him (for half the price of mine). Are you kidding me? Staples had a much higher quality, crisper lettering, even cut sides, the whole works! So I of course called Stinger to see if maybe they could print me some new cards or refund some of my money due do my dissatisfaction. I am not picky, I just wanted decent cards to use. After being cursed at and hung up on twice, I drove up to Stingers with my 250 crappy cards and one from my employee to show them the obvious difference. With other customers in the store I was cursed at again and was refused any new cards or refund of any kind. I explained that if he would just fix the cards I would leave on good terms, even recommend his company to my colleges. The man working basically told me to get the hell out of his store. They obviously do not need any new business. I was defeated and my kids now have a plethora of daddies cards to pass out to each other or use as "credit cards" while playing house. I am now waiting for my cards from Staples and have another lesson learned.
If you are looking for something major or minor it is always a good idea to research it on the Internet. We should take advantage of this tool and run no good, stealing companies out of business and keep the business going to the real companies that want it.
