I worked at RTTEMPS about 3 years ago. I wanted to write a letter to the company when I left the job, because I was completed appalled by the way this company operates. I held my tongue at my friends request who was still at the company at the time. Ive listed some examples below regarding my experience at RTTEMPS-
The pay does not match up with the work that is required of you. Because the company is small, you are responsible for obtaining job orders, interviewing candidates, filling job orders, booking their travel arrangements, and coaching the candidates to stay in the assignment.in other companies you have only one of these job responsibilities (such as filling job orders).
The pay is lower than what they tell you it can be. I worked VERY hard while I was there after 3 months they gave me a certain amount of job orders to fill and I hit that number. I even used some of my personal time in my evenings to create policies and procedures since they had none.
You had to be very careful and selective when choosing a candidate for an assignment because a good handful of the candidates in the database are desperate for work because they were convicted felons, had DUIs, drug charges, etc.
You would get a phone call several times a day from the company asking whats hot? They would also use scare tactics like mentioning that they listen in on phone calls. Needless to say it is a type of micromanagement that I have never experience before.
The way they pay you for job orders youve filled is very questionable. When I was there if you filled a job order that day you would not start seeing commission for the job order until the assignment started (which could be up to a month away). And even that commission was dependant upon the account paying. If the account was late on paying, then you didnt see that commission. When I left the job they did not have me fulfill my two weeks notice and I didnt get some of the commission that I earned.
They changed things on a whim all the time. This includes your hours, the job modalities you focused on, and if you covered the whole country or not.
Expect your job orders to be taken away from you. While I was there we used a rotation system. The secretary would get calls with incoming job orders and would rotate them among the staff. Many times the secretary would forget the rotation and you would miss out on a job order that way. But one time, a job order came in and I was the next person to get the incoming order and the manager called and flat out took the order away from me. This was a complete insult to me. Not to mention since most of our income came from commission the company was taking away the opportunity for me to make money!
You quickly learn here that you are replaceable, they do not value you, you will never fully meet the companys expectations, and you will never feel rewarded for your hard work. This is why there is a high turnover in staff at RTTEMPS. Its probably the one thing that upset me the most about the company. I am an extremely hard worker and as a result I like to feel appreciated and valued for my hard work.
