Not sure if you would call this a rip-off. My daughter filled her cart with items and tried to write a check. She showed them her driver's license, but would not write it on her check. The cashierinsisted they had to enter the #.
My daughter said with all the identity theft, she would only show it to them. A supervisor was called and told her the cash register required the entry of her driver's license # in order to process the transaction. She said no, and walked out, leaving all the items she was planning to purchase.
