I contacted Penbrook Productions on Saturday, March 16 via email because I was looking for a way to make extra money from my home.
I saw the ad on Careerbuilder.com and thought, they're a pretty trustworthy site so maybe this particular company would be the real deal.
Well, I was wrong. The first sign of trouble was when I couldn't get access to the secured section of the website. It kept giving the message that my ID or password was wrong.
I immediately called the customer care number and got a lady with a wierd accent. She said they were having technical difficulty and that I should call back tomorrow.
Fast forward to Sunday, I did just that. I got the same lady and this time I asked for a refund of my $197.00. I was told that it would take at least 5 business days.
I called today, Monday, and was told to call back on a business day. Hello! What is Monday? After that slip-up she said the same thing as before about a refund in 5 days.
Oh, by the way, her name was Princess. What kind of name is that for a customer service representative?
I asked if this whole thing was a scam and she tried to assure me that it wasn't. Lies, lies and more lies.
I have since called my credit card company and asked that this charge be investigated and not paid. It'll be credited back to my account but not before it shows up on my statement.
These people should be put in jail. Who knows how many of us have been ripped off.
I'll definitely be more careful in the future.
