Avoid siging up with the so called company (scam) at all costs. They are super high pressured. If you sign up for their "free trial" you will keep getting phone calls asking you to sign up for a year. I made the mistake of signing up month by month. I soon realized that the vast majority of their so called wholesale products were priced at more than retail! And I don't mean a little over, I mean a LOT over. I should have done my research more thoroughly before putting up some gold jewelry on eBay. I wasn't looking to make a huge profit, just a little extra money for my family. After NO SALES for ALL my auctions, I had to wonder why. I searched ebay with different keywords and then found the same gold jewelry selling for HUNDREDS less than what I was supposedly going to pay Doba for any sales. I then started going through their site thinking perhaps it was just the jewelry that was priced over retail. I managed to find some products that nobody else was selling on eBay and put those up for auction. I sold TWO lousy items. After paying Doba's outrageous monthly fee, plus ebay selling fees, paypal fees, etc. I lost money. A LOT of money. When I complained, I was told I needed to find lesser known items and find a niche, and that since they were just drop shipping onezies they could not give me the pricing that a retailer buying in bulk upfront would pay. I understand this (sort of). I've BEEN a retailer for over ten years and have worked with two drop shippers that have no "fees" to pay. I keep 50% of the sale. I do very well with them on my website. Not so on ebay for some reason though. My site doesn't sell "junk" though. We are known for high end gifts, not for ebay bargain shoppers. When I asked if I could pay upfront and buy items in bulk and get "true" wholesale pricing I was told a big fat NO. It's BS that they don't make any money off any of the sales. I simply don't believe it. I DID find other wholesalers selling the same products that Doba advertises and they were MUCH less than Doba. I pointed this out to Doba and was given a line of crap as always. They don't work that way. They can't negotiate better prices than what they have.
Believe me, I felt like an idiot trying to sell gold charms that Doba listed for say 100.00 wholesale plus a 10.00 drop ship fee plus shipping and trying to sell the charms for 150.00 which left me about 35.00 in profit after paying all the fees and not including Doba's high membership fee, only to find other sellers selling the same charms for 50.00!! So they are full of it when they are saying they don't make any money on the sales of their customers.
I'd finally had enough with them but when I tried to cancel, it became a JOKE. NOW, there was nobody to pick up the phone. I was on eternal hold for literally HOURS at a time, daily, for over a week. On the last day before they were supposed to charge my card, I got fed up and went onto their online chat session. I told the woman to cancel my membership and do NOT charge my card, period. She said it was cancelled and there would be no more charges. She gave me a cancellation number. Luckily I copied and pasted the conversation and printed it out. The very next day my credit card was charged AGAIN. This, after me going back on their site after the cancellation and totally deleting my credit card info. When I emailed them about this I was told I couldn't cancel my account via any other method except by telephone. I told this guy I have a copy of the chat transcript with the cancellation number. He said that would take effect NEXT month since my card was already charged. I also found out from my bank that they actually charged my card right after I cancelled my acccount, one day earlier than they normally have for months. I told this rep that I was tired of playing their games and was just going to file a chargeback, which I did. Because I was savvy enough to save the chat log and faxed it to my bank, I had my proof. I got the charge reversed.
I am STILL getting the "we want you back" routine emails from them. I blacklisted them and just bounce the emails right back at them. Oh, and I did order a "genuine rolling leather backpack/duffle bag" from them for my son. It lasted all of two months before the stitching started falling apart, the zipper busted right off and the wheels fell off. I actually sold one of those to some poor victim. He left me good feedback because he thought it was nice when he got it, as we did. But I feel bad because I bet his fell apart too within a few months.
This company is a total fraud. They have over 300 complaints against them. The Atty General of their state should be called and they should be taken to court. They are scammers and criminals. They LIE, they cheat and they tried to even steal from me by charging my credit card right after I cancelled.
I hate Doba. One of THE worst scam "businesses" online. They have a slick site and it all sounds so good until you actually start working with them.
Don't make the same mistake I did. This company sucks.
