I was shocked and appalled at the way I was treated at a horrible beauty parlor called Salon Ziba in Manhattan.
On the way up to Salon Ziba in the elevator, a sleazy-looking man who had an accent that made me think he was French looked me up and down and then for some reason started to laugh at my casual but pretty outfit, which he clearly didn't like. Since he was dressed like a cross between a gay hippy and a grease monkey, I don't know what he was having such a problem with about my outfit. He clearly had the worst taste in New York himself. And he was so obnoxious, standing over me and smirking at me. This was like something a little kid would do, not a grown man.
When the French creep got off the elevator, went to the door for Salon Ziba, and realized that I was heading for the same door, and I was one of the salon's customers, he abruptly stopped laughing at me and started trying, way too late, to act like a professional.
Apparently this jerk is one of the people who runs the salon!
I was ready to leave because his behavior in the elevator had been so offensive, and he would clearly NEVER qualify as any kind of a professional, but since the creep was not the person who would be doing my hair, I stayed to try out the salon's services. The other people working in the salon were just as bad as the man who runs it. My hair was cut by another French person and the haircut was awful, too straight and too lifeless.
Another individual gave me a dye job and that, too, was awful. I went into Salon Ziba with pretty blonde wavy hair and came out with a lifeless quasi-brown hairdo that I could not wait to fix myself with a home dye-job a few weeks later. Within a month I got my hair cut at a different salon and they did a much better job. Then again, I doubt any salon could have done a worse job than Salon Ziba.
Yet I had dropped $200 at Salon Ziba, a ludicrous amount when you consider that the man who runs it was ridiculously insulting to me and then my haircut and dye job were like something out of a horror movie!
I do not recommend this salon, filled as it is with nasty and incompetent jerks from France and God only knows where else.in fact, the creeps working in Salon Ziba are so wretched, they're enough to make me support the idea of the United States permanently closing its immigration policy to Europeans! Or in the case of the man who runs that salon, perhaps the term "Eurotrash" would be more appropriate.
Forego Salon Ziba.
