My husband just got off disability, so he has really been searching for a job. We came across an ad in the local newspaper about a job with the post office. Federal benefits, overtime, $20 per hour minimum. Sounds great, huh? Yeah, we thought so too.
They make the whole thing sound so wonderful. Then they offer you a book that you "need" to buy. When my husband asked how much the book would cost, she said $99.00. When he told her that he wasn't sure about spending that much money for a civil service study guide, her reply was, "Well, you know, it really depends on how much you want the job."
Being the naive young couple for a few very short seconds, we agreed to it. They make it sound like if you score high enough, you'll have this "wonderful" job. The whole time though, something was going off in the back of my mind. I researched the address that he asked them for and came across this website.
My husband had no sooner finished giving the credit card information and I had this website on the computer. When he told the lady he changed his mind and wanted a refund, she asked why. He told her he had just found out it was a scam. She denied it and when he demanded a refund again, she HUNG UP ON HIM! Luckily, we called our credit card company soon enough to stop the charges and get a whole new account number.
