Imagine my surprise when I approached the customer service desk at Target and after explaining to the clerk that I wanted to make an even exchange on a present that was given to my daughter for her birthday because the gift she received was defective and was told that I would have to pay an extra $5.00 because the toy had been recently on sale and they would have to assume that because I did not have the receipt because it was a gift that the person who bought this product must have bought it on sale. (???)
I was completely stunned, first of all, I made an even exchange, well let me take that back, I brought them back their defective product, picked up the only other item they had that was identical to my childs toy, but it had been a return, was in a taped up box without all the original packaging, I had to take a chance on whether everything was there or not (because they would not allow me to open the box) and then to top it off had to pay a $5.00 penalty for apparently wasting these peoples time!
I will never ever shop at Target again and you can believe I am passing on my experience with Target to anyone that will listen.
