So far, using this company has been a nightmare. Let me start by saying that in the past I have always moved my own items, but in this case, using a professional service seemed more appropriate. We searched and found Elite Moving and Storage which seemed to offer the better deal. The famous Suzie stated that in most cases a move of our size would cost about $2000. This is based on the average "weight" for a move of our size. Much to our suprise, "weight" has little to nothing to due with the pricing by this company. Once the movers arrived and began loading the truck, we were told that the price is actually dependant upon the space that is used within the truck. So what happened to the price you might ask? It more than DOUBLED!
We were able to negotiate a slightly lower price as others have done successfully. With reading the other reports we are thankful that we packed the majority of our items ourselves. I can say that the large furniture items were packed quite well and the crew that worked that day were awesome in their process.
There is much more to this horror story, but in order to preserve the items that this company still possesses I will wait until we have completed all transactions before telling the rest. I would definately urge anyone that is considering using this company to save yourself the stress and the money and look elsewhere or perform the move yourself.
