A few years back, I retained an attorney in the West Hollywood, CA area for a lawsuit held against me. The plaintiff was in fact a billion dollar worldwide corporation and i was made a prime example of within the confides of the law. None the less, i plead guilty on advise of my attorney. This was one of those cases where if you didnt have the funds as a normal working class citizen to retain a lawyer in a specialized field, then you had better hope that you come across one that's at least competent enough to get you through the case adequately.
I hired a lawyer upon referal to me and the case was so intricate, that it was WITHOUT MY CONSENT pawned off to his sister (Joint team).
This brother / sister team has done nothing short of botching this case to the extreme, leaving me in a world of disarray with a billion dollar corporation breathing down my neck.
Not only did they gladly take my money and practically sprint with it, but cut me off to the conclusion of, "We cant help you any further unless you GIVE US MORE MONEY." Im STILL on probation for four years running now with the courts filing for a further extension until my restitution is paid off.
Heres what wonderful Maria Cavaluzzi has done for me. Heres how life has been;
Four years of probation (thus far), over 13,500.00 restitution, 250 hours of community service, LOSS of 15,000.00 material seized by this corporation in an in home seizure that was legally due me.
Not only did Maria botch me getting my property back from the plaintiff, she did nothing in regards to want to help me plea down any kind judgement. Bear in mid... ALL of this was for selling recorded VHS tapes of Scooby Doo over the internet.
Now that my case is up for review - you figure "Once you hire an attorney" they are in fact courteous enough to retain the records for further actions come future dates. Unfortunately Maria is most likely in the early stages of menopause, as i was greeted with the bedside manner of a lump of fecies. Upon calling her for the first time in years, i was already greeted with $ signs. ALL I WANTED WAS SOME KIND ADVISE! Given the fact that i gave her three days notice for an upcoming court date, she literally jumped through the phone at me stating "By the way, im NOT your lawyer any more, and ask for a continuance... So SHE could have more time to fax me the documents that little/no money former client needs desperately.
I have heard stories regarding self-serving attorneys that should be hung from their feet from a tree, and never understood someones distain or the familiar conotations that revolve within their circle... Until now.
BEWARE of hiring this bumbling inept attorney who has done nothing short of picking my pocket for spare change with the consideration of a melon lacking the courtesy of even returning a phone call.
The facts present themselves as shown and i'm sure upon reading this (which i hope she is) shes proud of herself for destroying my credibility in this case, leaving me with no options and all because im not wealthy enough to subsidize her for every whim.
I make about as much as a carwash employee on a weekly basis, but thats not a concern for this greedy individual nor is the path that my life could take or what it has endured from the neglect i have received from her firm. If i had more time to pursue proper legal counsel and not take the advise of a friend, Im sure i would have chosen an attorney more wisely. I hope i appeal to anyone who has been wronged like i have.
