They could not provide service & charged me a disconnect fee

I called to find out about Vontage's service, I was assured I could keep my phone number I have had for over 13 years - I made it clear, very clear, that was the only way I would sign up.

After several attempts to have my number switched over I was told (within a few hours of signing up) it could not be done. I tried to cancel the order under the facts, Vontage could not live up to their end of our deal, I wanted to use their service, but they still charged me a a $42.79 disconect fee! I have sent many emails and spent much time on the phone explaining the situation to them, the bottom line is - they don't care! It was a bait and switch deal if I ever experienced one!

They baited me in with all their good services, prices and I could keep my phone number. Once they got my credit card they switched the offer around to I had to take their new number and their was nothing I could do about it.

Just to warn others, they are a real scam and they do not care about customer service. My bet is they are going to be a short lived business.
