This is a legitimate warning for anywho who is seriously planning to relocate to a different area. If cable TV is of any importance to you and is on your checklist to research in your new area, you may want to find out which cable company services the area in which you plan to move. If Comcast is the only service available, you may want to choose a different location in which to relocate.
Take it from someone who has lived in three different states since Comcast "SUCKS BIG TIME!" I've never even heard of Comcast until I moved to Georgia. I tell you it is "THE WORST CABLE COMPANY!" It may seem incredibly shallow to even consider cable companies as a factor in making a move. Surely its not at the top of the list but believe me when I say that it will forever be taken into consideration by me if ever I move to another location. I feel that strongly about the unethical practices of Comcast Cable.
Comcast repeatedly, removes popular programming as well as the number of stations that are a part of the basic cable package. Yet, the cost for the package remains the same. Within the past few months, many of the stations have been simply removed. No longer available within the basic cable package that we subscribe to. The stations are just dead air. Yet again, there's no refund offered for the programming that we can no longer view, or that we were initially contracted to receive as part of the basic cable package.
Now this morning I see that they are slowly phasing out stations that have traditionally been a part of basic cable programming like the Oxygen channel. The channel guide station continues to show what programming should be on those channels but when you turn to those channels, there's either nothing there or there's programming geared to put you to sleep. Now it may be suitable for others but its not what I paid nor is it all inclusive of the packaging that comcast advertised as their basic cable package.
I understand the need for change but I do not understand a company using unethical tactics in order to attain that change.
If that's not bad enough, for the past 3 to 4 months, they've bombarded viewers with the same movies over, and over and over again.instead of showing different things every month, they simply move movies from one channel to another. If I have to see A Few Good Men, a few more times I'm gonna throw up! Also: Rush Hour, Sandra Bullock as a drunk, I Robot, The Godfather, Scarface, The Last Samauri, The Firm, Forrest Gump, and The Untouchables are all excellent movies. I dare to say that they are classics but Comcast cable has made them all just downright annoying.
All this is an attempt to force you to subscribe to their new digital basic cable package. They offered the hook up for this system for free to customers. But, the box that you need is $5.00 for any additional tv's in the home otherwise everyone will have to watch the same channel. We have 5 tv's in the home. That'll be an extra $25.00 a month.
Surely, basic cable subscribers are not at the top of the heap for cable companies but we are customers too. We pay our hard earned money just as everyone else does. If our patronage is not wanted them stop taking our money only to try to force us to upgrade to more expensive packages. The practice is unethical and a misrepresentation of what we signed on for. Surely Comcast makes enough money and profits that they do not have to subject their customers to these tiresome business practices.
