I know Rui Farias in the context that he was the attorney that a real estate sales person, Jon Chilian, set me up with as a buyer. Rui Farias has extensive business dealings with Jon Chilian and was unwilling to take any actions that would appear awkward with regard to him. As an attorney in my experience he was absolutely worthless.
Nothing that he ever diod for me was completed in a competent manner. Phone calls that I asked him to make took months to get dialed. He took plenty of money from me, for reading contracts and for setting up a bank account, but it turned out that his reading of the contracts was incorrect and following his advice got me into big financial trouble when I wanted to cancel the contracts and get a refund.
The bank account that he set up for me was useless as he was never able to prove to me that the account actually existed, and he could never get me an ATM card so that I could access my money in the account even after over a year of hounding him almost every day about it. Over a year into his setting up of the account, he told me suddenly and without any prior warning that I owed an additional US$600 for the monthly maintenance of the account which I was never able to access either over the internet, or through a phone number, or with an ATM debit card, apparantly due to Farias' unwillingness to make the effort on my behalf to secure these things.
