What a complete rip off! This company should be shut down and burned. Want to know what I'm talking about? Here it is (This happened very recently, like after Labor Day recently. Warning: long!):
I was looking for a job on many different career websites and the title, "Restaurant/Bar/Server experience wanted". So I looked at the job description. They were very vague in what they did, so I sent in my resume. Bad move, Jim-bo! They called the next day and wanted an interview... The next day!"Wow" I said to myself, "they really must like me." Wrong.
When I got there, all they did was fast talk me and shoved me out the door. I though I was really bad or something. Did not occur to me that it would be a scam. So I got a call that said they really liked my resume and they wanted a second interview.
So on that fateful, second interview day, I went to the place and was greeted by a perky blond. They fast talked me also and told me they wanted to "try me out". My mind went blank. What?"Try me out"? Am I a car or something? Anyway, I went and they told me that I was to got to Frankfort, Il (with the perky blond) and sell their, ahem, crap. Oh, did I mention that I was supposed to have my own car? No? Well, they were a little disappointed, but I hitched a ride with the perky blond.
We were going to Frankfort, Il. Very far! Far, far far! It took about an hour and a half to get there. Then we set up a table and display our so-called, items. The kicker? They were "helping" a children's organization. We were out there for about six hours. Six hours. Without pay, mind you. It wasn't fun. You had to have an annoying personality, so you could get people over. You basically called people over like a prostitute (without the fun).
So we sold most of our crap-e, junk, shite, and went on home. It took about two hours to get back to their office, because of rush hour traffic. We got there and my parents (told my parents where I would be) and they picked me up. Told me it was a family emergency. Even then, they told I wouldn't get the job if I didn't talk to them. FAMILY EMERGENCY! But I was said, "I need to go." So I left. My parents told me of the scam and showed me the paper work. I was not surprised.
So what does this do with you? Don't go! Please don't. You will be very dissappointed and pissed off if you go.
