Ripoff Tried to sell me USED dress shoes for my daughter then BLAMED her for the marks

I ordered a pair of children's dress shoes, and paid to have them dyed Ivory for my cousin's wedding. My daughter is 8- she was the flower girl. We ordered them in FEB.

From April to May, we went to the store no less than 3 times to get them. The first time, I got a call that the shoes were in, but when I went to the store, they advised they weren't yet in, but the dress was in. I thought it odd that the shoes took longer than the dress, but okay. The following week, I called, and was advised the shoes were right there all along.

I went back 2 weeks later, as we have to drive 40 miles to the store. They couldn't find them again. I left and called back a week later. I spoke to another agent and was reassured they were there, she put my box out and I advised I would be in THAT night to pick them up.

We went to dinner and ran in there to get them. They found them this time, she made my daughter try them on. She had them on less than 10 seconds, didn't even walk in them. She put them in the box and handed them to me. I pulled them out to check the dye job... And found dirty foot IMPRESSIONS in the soles and scuff marks on the edges; like they had been worn. And for much longer than just a moment... Bc they weren't prints, they were impressions of someone's toes.

I showed them to the agent, and she said... Goodness. You're right. Let me get the manager. The manager came up and said. Well, I don't have any others in stock. Nor do you have time to have another pair dyed before the wedding. Why don't u just take these and no one will ever see them?

Having paid full price for NEW shoes, I had a problem with wearing used shoes. And the fact that the mgr didn't seem to be bothered by the fact they were selling me used shoes. When I advised that wasn't a good option, she got rude and then made my daughter take off her flip flops and show her the bottom of her foot, like she did the damage in the time she had the shoe on! The rep that helped us tried to tell the mgr that my daughter never walked in them. The mgr told her to shut up. The mgr never once offered any resolution to the issue. I ended up having to demand my money back and went to a shoe store to find a pair of shoes at the last minute. The manager never once apologized for the situation of the numerous attempts to pick up the shoes or the fact that they looked worn. And it was awful, the way the woman tried to blame my child for the damage! The woman was loud and rude. And I was floored that a manager would handle herself like that.

I think now that the reason I couldn't find the shoes the first or second time I went into the shop - the shoes must have been put out for the display - which would allow children to put their feet in them. And get them dirty. And would explain why I got the call that they were in, but then they find them when I came to pick them up.

The issue itself was bad enough, but the way the manager handled the situation and the fact that the store rep told me her manager was wrong and should have handled that differently... I will NEVER think of using David's Bridal again, and I have told everyone I know of the shady handling of the situation.
