As a recent widow of 61 years of age, I was beside myself as to how to meet new people... Especially gentlemen that might have common interests or desire companionship. Great Expectations solicited me, and from what I was told, it was the most secure, safest place to meet a professional like myself. There were thousands of potential daters joining every month.
It has now been 13 months since I joined, at a cost of over $3,000! Not once have I received any sort of communcation that someone expressed an interest in me. Yet, later last year I joined several other dating sites, some of which were free, and was astounded at the positive results and interest. Those sites were reasonably priced... And nothing like the thousands that I had spent for nothing.
When I met with my consultant at Great Expectations, I was told I would have men beating down my door to meet me. I am a very attractive lady, a successful businesswoman, and have never been concerned that I wouldn't find someone. But, in my vulnerable state at the time of my interview, when I cried about losing my husband and that it had left a hole in my heart, I was assured with my looks and personality I would be very pleased.
I feel sorry for anyone expecting any sort of service from this organization. Never once have I been contacted to see if things are going well. The so called socials they host are a joke. I went to one where I was surrounded by women my age. All of the women had the same story as me — they had joined 2 years or more, and never met anyone. The few men that showed up were bashful, shy, or just plain nothing to write home about. I actually left the table where we were seated to get a drink, and got "hit on" by two separate men who had nothing to do with the dating service.
Something needs to be done to this company to make it justify it's promises... I knew I might not find Mr. Right. However, no one has contacted me ever. And, when I browsed through the gentlemen over the past year, I have not seen many newer faces than when I first joined. Many of those that suit my needs are out of state... As far as 2,000 miles away.
I feel like a fool admitting that I was scammed. After signing the initial contract, I went in to Great Expectations to utilize my 3-day right of recision.instead, I was met by a very nice lady (or so she appeared to be), who brought me Kleenex and listened to me cry about my husband. She told me not to worry, that all would go well and I would find someone. She then gave me a "discount" to make it more palatable.
I would participate in a Civil Action Lawsuit against this company in a heartbeat.
