Department Store Bogus return policy, even wiht a receipt! Ripoff

My poor mom shopped (like a good post 9/11 American, wink) in November and December for Christmas.

One of the big stores she hit was Dillard's department store. On the day after Thanksgiving, she bought me a high-quality food processor. I opened it up on Christmas, delighted with her intentions, but needed to return it.

Although Dillard's is national, none are closer than 3 hours away. Upon first opportunity post Christmas, I attempted to return the unused, unopened item with a receipt. They would not honor the price my mother paid, instead saying it had since gone on sale and they would only give me 50 percent of what she paid - even in store credit.

Upset, confused, astounded I opted to not return the item. Spoke with a store manager, same response... Took the item home, wrote the corporate office about the situation, they are yet to respond.

Never, ever ever buy anything from Dillard's unless you are sure you can return it within 30 days, so that is certainly off limits for anyone in your family who lives out of town!!! It is now my mission to let everyone on this planet how terrible Dillard's treated me and how no one should shop there.
