I had MCI for my long distance carrier from October 1999 to March. Here is my problem. For 4 months they overcharged my phone bill by 1000.00 or more. I was on the 5 cents and 7 cents plan. If I used my calling card to call my own home, the above rates still apply.
After I received my phone bill for November 1999, I called them to tell them the mistake. After talking to about a dozen people that don't know anything the last person told me it would be corrected by the December 1999 billing. Of course this went on all the way until March when I cancelled them. I had 2000.00 to 3000.00 phone bills because I refused to pay the error on their part. I called at least 100 people from MCI and also sent numerous faxes to corporate office in Iowa.
Nobody in the so called customer service would give me a phone number to call the corporate office, so I had to fax them. I told them I know I owe them some money, but I wanted my account audited from day one since I had them. But instead of anyone helping me with this matter they sent my account to collections instead.
How can a company that rips people off like that stay in business? I also heard from a former employee at MCI that when they record your phone calls for their training purposes, (which there is none) that if you have something derrogatory to say about MCI they just erase the recording.
Someone needs to put a stop to these bad business practices. MCI should not be in business. I am also filing a complaint with the FCC. I would get an attorney to help me solve this matter, but I just can't afford one right now.
If you have any suggestions for me, I would greatly appreciate it.
