Millennium Movers, A Active Moving
Millennium Movers, A Active Moving Ripoff, scam, illegal permit, bad employees, bad sales, lies

My mother had to move unexpectedly and was contacted by Millennium Movers. When she spoke to them, they gave her a quote over the phone of 2 men, $89 per hour, 4 hours.

She purchased boxes from them and the salesman came to her apartment to see what would be moved. He remarked that she had a lot of items (which she had told him to begin with) and she would probably need 3 men. He said he would give her a new quote when he got back to the office. He called and gave her $114 per hour for 3 men, 6 hours. She said fine (I was standing next to her the while she wrote this down).

Moving day: 2 men show up (on time, the only good thing) in one box truck. We told them we were expecting 3 men, they said there was only 2 on the dispatch form. It went downhill from there. One guy got on the phone to try and get a third guy while the other guy looked around the place. Funny how they both remarked that there was lots of stuff.

The second guy started loading boxes for storage (they (Millenium Movers) were going to store part of our stuff for a month) while the other guy was still on the phone. Knowing that two men would not work I called my ex-husband and asked if he would come over and help. On his only day off for 2 weeks, he came to help.

For every load these two (when both were working) men loaded my ex loaded twice as much. They were very very slow, they didn't know how to load the truck and kept having to stop to figure out where to put stuff. My ex kept telling the one guy (Tony) that the truck was way to small for everything. It didn't sink in until about noon or so when Tony finally realized that (duh!).

They then decided to load the stuff going to the new place, drop that stuff off and come back for the rest of the storage items. Did I mention that they were super slow and unorganized in loading? By this time is was already close to 3pm. So they get to the new place and Tony immediately gets on his phone (my ex and I saw him on the phone all morning and they weren't business calls) for 10 minutes while the other two (the third guy showed up at 1pm, he didn't add much speed) started to take things off the truck. They were just as slow unloading as they were loading. I had gone back and forth 3 times with an SUV and they still weren't done.

It seemed as the day went on they got slower and slower. I again had to call my ex (7pm now) to come back over to help finish moving with our own cars.

Because of the incompitance of the salesman, it took twice as long and cost twice as much as we were quoted. The salesman told us if we paid cash we would get a 10% discount... We had cash for what we were quoted but because it cost twice as much we had to put the rest on my credit card for which they charge 5% WHAT A CROCK!!!

12 hours later... Yes 12 hours for them to move us. They failed to give my mom a receipt or copy of the bill and they didn't give me a copy of the credit card receipt.

I spoke to a "supervisor" Patricia who proceeded to tell me my mom "refused" 3 men. Funny, I was standing right there through the whole conversation and she said 3 men was fine. To top it all off she only offered 10%. This move cost close to $1400 and you want to give me 10%? I don't think so!

To top it all off, they advertise a HHG permit on their website which was revoked in 11.

I want 50% - 100% back minus the $175 for storage.
