International Library Of Photographers - Society Of Photographers - Picture.com Ripoff claims you won picture contest and pic will be published in Endless Journeys

Scam operation - company sends a letter saying you have won a picture contest and your picture will be published in a book called "Endless Journeys". Claims this album, which costs about $75, will cost more after publication when it can be bought in bookstores (lie). Claims you have also won a silver bowl (which costs $200 if you want it) and invites you to a national conference where your photo will be featured. Book is never published - Endless Journeys has been 'in publication' for at least 4 years. But other 'subtitles' may be published if photographer is willing to wait 2 years or more. I waited 2 years, asked for my money back for the 2 albums I had paid for 2 years before, was refused, and had to contact the Maryland AG's office to get my money back. I had contacted the BBB in Maryland, but they just gave lip service to the issue - since the company is a paying member of their BBB. You can find hundreds of similar stories at (ROR redacted link)

This company apparently gets around the law by calling themselves a 'vanity' publishing company - meaning that they publish pictures of anyone that's willing to pay for the book. But they are misleading, deceptive, and totally misrepresent their company. Most people who have experience with this company know that it's a scam - no matter what they call themselves, who they pay, or how they get around the law. Any rebuttals to this and similar reports will obviously have been written by employees of the company.

Incidentally, this same business (same address and same modus operandi) also operates the International Library of Poetry, aka Internal Society of Poets, aka poetry.com They are all the same and all scams.
