I was invited to be insulted & Ripped off this past Saturday March 17th. My appointment was for 12:45 I arrived a little early so I hung outside for a few minutes then I went up to the 12th floor offices of One Source.
There was a guy waiting in the hallway, I thought for the elevator, but after going to room 1209, I was instructed to wait inline with that guy.
Over the next 20 minutes the Line grew to about 50 or so people, Many of which were kids with their Parents.
While standing on line we filed out some paper work then we were allowed in to wait, for Digital Photos it turned out.
You Sit there Totally confused & hear a voice say "NEXT", But no one knows who's Next, And so begins the Arrogance & Cattle like treatment of all.
Now the Kid taking the Pictures looked like it was his first time using a camera. The room it self was a Real Mess, Aluminum Flashing on the wall, Green Paint on the White Drapes, A Real Turn Off So they take a few Pictures then tell you to go wait out side & take off your Shoes???
So We all do Once again you are called to another room, This time by Name, It's to be Measured.
Now I know size I am, so when this "Professional" (it turns out He I mean She (I honestly thought this person was a Guy dressed up to look like a woman), Was the Person In Charge)
Called out my suit size as a 44, I only wish, Again a light goes off that something isn't right.
Once again we are asked to wait, This time in a room with a TV playing a movie, Eventually That woman comes in & immediately begins to Pound us over the head with;
Some of you are Not what were Looking, this business is full of rejection get used to it, Oh but Feel free to Come back Next Year for More Abuse.
Then the Big Hype, Walls covered with Photos & Stories of Success for Everyone. Then She compares the Cost of Head shots supplied by the Crowd, & how much cheaper they are. Well I've been around awhile & I know a Scam when I Hear one, but Lets see where it goes.
OK 20 minutes later & more that 20 times her saying If this isn't for you then Leave Now, Don't waste your time & mine (To Late) & Not Everyone will be asked back for a second interview (which psychologically Plays to our basic need to be accepted) So when you go "One on One" with her assistants you just about begging for them to take Your Money.
My Turn I see TJ Mildly rude 20 something X School teacher (I Doubt it) He says: I see you are an actor We need to be able to promote you as a Model, But we get a lot of acting gigs, It must be a Legal Loop Hole.
I go to sit down & he stops me & asks me to stand, he says so he check my Profile. & he does, & I ask if I can sit, But He again Stops me by Saying I'd rather you stood???
He tells me the Office will be closed on Sunday so the Director can meet with some Casting Agents & that I will be one of the People they will be Promoting, That's Nice I say. He then wants to schedule me to meet with the "Director", How's Monday Morning? OK I say
Well as a matter of the $395.00 he says, If I could bring it with me on Monday That would help to get my Digital Packet out Faster what with this being Pilot Season, Well I must have looked like I wasn't going for so he's says: If you don't have the whole thing maybe you can get Half or get on a payment Plan or in some rare occasions if we have work for you right away we might be able to lower the $395.00 for you, but that's rare.
Well I get an appointment for Monday at 10:30, Which I am not going to, Instead I am Posting this in Hopes That Someone will be saved the Waste of Time & Money Better Spent Else where.
It's a Real Shame That those Parents & Children had to put up with such BS for Absolutely Nothing. I only Hope They Didn't Waste their Money after wasting their Time.
