I made an appointment to get my hair braided with a certain hair braider. When I arrived at the time they told me to arrive which was 8am, no one was there. The shop was not even open.
I sit there waiting for my braider to arrive and 4 more cars pull up. I'm thinking great now we can get started. After talking to a few of the ladies I realize these are clients that were told to arrive at 8 am as well.
So now it is a total of 5 of us waiting for the braiders to arrive. At about 8:22am a van pulls up and 2 ladies get out to open the shop.
Now the one I have an appointment with is not there. So I ask the lady manager where is she. She says "Oh she is not here today", What! I say, but I have a 8am appointment.
"she is not here" and the manager goes into the shop. Now by this time it is almost 8:30am, keep in mind they stressed to be there by 8am and I was but they were not.
Now I go into the shop trying to find why I was not notified. Well the manager stated that the lady who was suppose to do my hair got sick at about 3am and so what could she do, she had no way to call. So she says they can still do my hair and ask me for my payment.
Keep in mind there are only 2 braiders (this is including the manager). Note she has already collected money from two other clients/customers. I tell her I will pay when they finish, she says no it is not their policy.
I say ok I will give you the money when you start. She says no we will not start until you pay. Keep in mind they have 5 people that need to get their hair braided because they had a 8am appointment too, but there are only two braiders and it is about 8:33am now.
Then the manager tells me she does not have time for me, she has other people hair to braid. The she tell me the person who was suppodse to braid my hair was off because she stayed uop late the night before braiding and could not get out of bed.
I say ok I thought you said she was sick, then she says oh yeah she is sick too. Then she tells me to pay I said well I can give you half now and half at finish she says no. I said ok fine when will the other lady be back.
She tells me well the lady who is suppeose to do your hair is off because of her birthday. Mind you the lady who braid my hair braided it 4 months before and that weekend said it was her birthday. So now I am sick of the lies and decide I will not get my hair braided.
By this time two of the clients she had scheduled for 8am left. They said she was being rude to me and that this was some crap, so they decided to leave.
Now the manage rlady says she has got to go back out and pick up some other braiders. Now it is about 8:36am she just got there at 8:22am and now she is going to leave with only one braider there to do now 3 peoples hair.
3 in 1 is a rip off they try to stress they braid fast but then they have you sitting around for hours before they even start. So is it really laess time you are spending or more time.
Yes, they may braid fast and tell you to come in at 8am but if they don't start until 9-10am and they told you 5 hours you are really spending 7 hours there. Lets not forget their back room congregation in between time so now add another hour, now your up to 8.
If the conversation is good it may be 9 hours.
And remeber they already have your money because they took it when you first arrived so you just have to sit there until they get ready to do it.
Is that fair? Is that good customer service? No, it is not. Not once did the manager apoligize to any of the clients waiting for the braiders and herself arriving late.
These braiders came from all around with only money on their mind and they do not care about their customers time. I say we stop giving them our money unless service is rendered when they promise. If they say 8am then they should arrive at least 7:45.
