OMF doesn't tell you they buy the adjustable bed base from Legett and Platt and that if anything goes wrong, you must pay to fix the problem after 12 months. OMF says it's not their problem. They WILL tell you that since the base design was changed that others have had the problem of compressed fiberfill which makes the bed mattress lean and you feel like you are going to fall off the bed, but not that Legett and Platt will only take responsibility if you call the repair in within the first 12 months.
When you are purchasing, they make a big deal about 12 years of coverage. It was a few weeks after the 12 months that I called in the repair. We thought it was the mattress that my 85 year old stroke paralysed mother was sleeping on that was having the problem. OMF sent someone out and they reported that the based had compressed and the base was at fault. The part is free from Legatt and Platt but I get to pay the shipping of $12 and $130 for the service repairman. It isn't the money but the fact that OMF sells you a bed and base with their name and warranty on it and then says it's not their problem.
The bed was around $1600 and 13 months later my mother is struggling to sleep without rolling off and OMF says it's not their problem.
Funny thing is that we have sent dozens of people to the Lake Mary, Fl, store because of the comfort of the top of the line Latex mattress and the salesman, Mike, at the store. I purchased a second "non" adjustable bed there and several latex pillows that I have given as gifts at $35 a pillow. They even sent by mattress out late in the evening with office staffers, when the deliverymen missed the appointment.in my career, I am in a position to recommend (and have) hundreds of customers to their company. That will stop immediately and I will let everyone from co-workers (who are, also, in a position to send clients to OMF) and my clients know about the customer NO SERVICE provided by OMF in a matter as serious and dangerous as this.
There is no doubt that the compression that caused this problem happened before the 12 months was up so, as far as any clear thinking person would be able to see, it should have been graciously repaired. I was as "high" on this product as I am distressed by the customer "NO Service" I have been treated with.
What a shame that a company puts their name on a product and then blames someone else when a simple, easily fixed problem comes along. Another example of the blame game and "let the customer take the fall."
