Mainpulative pushy manager, incompetent service, poor results

Ok, I could have walked out when I asked the hair/makeup girl (barely out of her teens) if she was a licensed cosmetologist and she replied "not exactly." I had driven across town, and put down my 20 dollar deposit, and besides, I didn't have any other Valentine's Day ideas for my boyfriend, so I stayed put and let her cake on layers of makeup and then proceed to curl my hair for me (which I could've done at home before I got there.) I could've done a much better job on my makeup. Even when asked how I liked what she did I just went along with it thinking it'll look good for the picture, she knows what she's doing, etc. Big mistake on my part!

More on the makeup, hind sight really is 20/20. Looking back, there were a few rules of hygiene broken along the way, like double or triple dipping the same lip brush into the pot of lipstick. And yet I went along with it because I was so excited to give my man good pictures of me.

Plus the "makeup/hair artist" acted pretty phony the whole time, randomly shouting out "Yeah!" or "who-hoo!" about how hot I supposedly looked.

I can't complain too much about the photographer himself. He seemed genuine but then again he didn't say anything about me wearing too much caked on makeup while taking pictures.

Speaking of the pictures, it got time to sit down at the computer to pick out my favorites, and I honestly didn't like any of them, in their defense partially because of what I feel about my looks, but also because of how the makeup job turned out.

In many of my pictures, I looked alot older than I normally do because of the way the makeup sank into my facial lines.in a few of them, glistening makeup was evident above my lip (it was hot in there) and then that brings me to the next point...

To digitally remove that glistening blob of makeup from my upper lip, and to remove the lines that they accentuated, it was going to cost extra per picture to get the "Glamour Touch" In general, as others on here have stated, their prices are very vague, and everything is extra, so it can add up quick. The prices they were quoting were laughable! I just wanted a romantic picture for my boyfriend and then maybe a couple that I can give to my family.

What I objected to the MOST however, is the way you feel ganged up on when you're picking out pictures at the computer. It was me, 2 makeup girls, and the manager. At first there was playful banter, but the joking and fun stopped and got downright awkward when it was apparant to them I wasn't going to be their 2,400 dollar customer. When I decided on just the minimum package, the manager, Ken Ingram said, "Was it something I said?" "What happened back there that made you change your mind?" Initially, I was going to go for a $300 package. They make you feel guilty and that you have to explain your decision. Then he snidely commented, "Obviously we didn't do a good enough job for you." At that point I took offense and said that I didn't appreciate the manipulative tactics.

I'm sorry this story was so long winded. I left out of there feeling depressed, and sorry for myself that I wasted time and money on this when I could've just as easily gone to Sears or someplace place else.

Today I got my two 8 by 10s that I ordered and they looked terrible. I threw them away. My boyfriend said I should've asked for a refund or another photo shoot, but if that was how the mananger is, than I know what kind of company I'm dealing with. I'll just cut my losses and hope that this story prevents anyone else from making the same mistake that I made.
