Complaint / Review
Sprint - Nextel
Holding me hostage New York City New York

I've been with Sprint for several years and decided to switch over to Nextel to get away from Sprint because of their unfair treatment of me and how they seem to pull up charges out of a hat.

So I go to Nextel and everything is fine, for a while, and then bam! Sprint buy's Nextel.

Then on 11/28 I decide to try one of those fancy BlackBerry phones. I bought the i-7100 from BlackBerry. Well as it turns out, the dam phone never worked right for me since day one. Now in spite of me having to call tech support, virtually every day, they could not resolve my problem.

I finally decided that I'd had enough of this non-sense and called Sprint again to out-right cancel my contract with them. So I spoke to this sweet sounding rep. Who painted the moon yellow for me and promised me that I would be taken care of and that she was prepared to offer me a great deal to stay.

So being the naive one I am, I decided to listen to her offer.

So she goes on to tell me that Since it has not been thirty days since I had purchase the new BlackBerry, I could return it to the store where purchased and get a full refund. Which I did, and got my full refund for it.

Then she tells me that she was offering me the "Fair-and-Flexible" plan and that because of all my troubles I had experienced, she would offer it to me for only $99.99 per month.
Great right?!? -NOT-

So anyway, What she either didn't know or just outright forgot to mention to me was that this particular plan costs $199.99 per month in New York City and that the $99.99 plan did not apply to me. Even though she assured me that all I would have to pay was the $99.99 per month.

So a month later I get a bill for more than twice the amount that I expected to pay. When I tried to talk to someone at Sprint/Nextel, I got nothing but heartache and transfers from person to person and then again from department to department.

Finally I got to speak to someone who I thought had some brains and could maybe help me out of this dilemma I was in. Again -NOT-

This particular rep. Went ahead and filed a review of my claim and told me that it should take about 3-5 days for me to get a response. So a few days later (Today - 01/28) I speak to another rep. About the same issue and she tells me that the review was closed for lack of information. I think maybe I was supposed to provide a pint of blood at this point.

So the saga continues...
Now we're still in the same day.
After speaking to 8, that's eight different rep's in four different departments, I still am left without a straight answer.

Bottom line is:
Because Sprint/Nextel say that none of the rep's can change anything on my account and that no one there seems to know who the head person to talk to is, I'm now told that back in November when I bought the Blackberry phone, my contract was automatically extended for another year. Now this was supposed to have been canceled when I returned the phone and reverted back to my old contract status. Again -Wishful thinking-

So as it stands:
I now have to pay the full amount of the bill, which I don't mind doing at this point. But I also have to pay $200.00 for each phone on my plan plus tax and etf's. Even though I was told that after I got my full refund for the returned phone I would have my contract reverted to its old status.

And because no one at Sprint/Nextel seems to know how the hell to fix this problem I'm having. Oh, and I can't cancel anything with my account until the status of the dispute has been finalized.

You can't make this stuff up! I would be more than happy to provide any unfortunate soul a copy of the transcript I've maintained on this case.
