When I placed an online order with another company, Shopping Essentials somehow got my credit card information and began billing me a $9.95 "membership fee"; when I called and confronted them with it, they tried to say that I had agreed to it, but I am so paranoid about such scams, I know it was a total lie. They did agree to cancel the membership within two days, however, they refuse to refund the first month... Their customer service agent was oh so eager to get off of the line with me, but I forced her to put the supervisor on and he assured me it would be cancelled, but not before I made him explain to me how they obtained my information. He was vague, but the short answer was that I had clicked on some type of 20% rebate offer and agreed to their membership. I think they have a cookie enabled in some of these catalog websites and they steal your information. Watch everything you do when making any catalog orders...
