We purchased a Cockerspaniel puppy in August. At the time the pup had a droop in it's left eye. The vet, who examined the pet, Dr. Anant V. Joshi (Another rip off in cohoots with Animals and Things) rendered the pup "unfit for sale". The pup was sold to us anyway with conjuntivitis of the left eye. I took the pup for the free check up's and the pup had conjunctivitis at least 5 times since August.
I never received any AKC paperwork after 120 days. Animals and Things said they mailed them out not certified as $4.00 is too much to spend. I spent $900 on this dog!!!
Animals and Things refused to adhere to the NJ state puppy lemon law regarding this as we asked for a 75% refund. On 1/1/07 our pup developed "cherry eye". I took Cinnamon to Clark Animal Hospital, Dr. Joshi's illegimate place of business to be looked at. The man walks into the room, looks at Cinnamon and says: "cherry eye, she needs surgery".
The Dr. Refused to admit that this is a hereditary condition and refused to write up a "unfit for sale" form. He quoted $250 and $700 for the surgery and refused to write those amounts on the letter he gave me. He told me to see if the pet shop would pay for the surgery. Oh yeah, this dummy vet gave Cinnamon NO meds to sooth her pain.
I go to Animal and Things and they said we're not paying anything and we don't follow the contract. (Something the NJ Dept of Consumer Affairs would love hearing. They also said if we return the dog they would "put her to sleep" in front of my 9 and 6 year old boys - my older son asked what that is and the ass manager said "we kill your dog". BOTH OF MY SONS STARTED CRYING!!! My wife confronted the vet about his being in cohoots with Animals and Things and he threatened to call his attorney on my wife.
Two days gone by and her eye became more swollen and bloddy. I took her for a second opinion and that vet gave me the right information and gave Cinnamon a legit exam and meds. I have been referred to the Garden State Vet Specialists. They took Cinnamon in as an "emergency" and are going to attempt to perform surgery tomorrow - $1600 $69 $45 so far...
Oh, and i went back to clark animal hospital and dr. Joshi refused to administer medical attention to cinnamon - he said he would not perform the surgery because my wife was rude to him - this vet is in absolute cohoots with animals and things
To whoever reads this - we are honest, hardworking people - stay away from animals and things in woodbridge and clark animal hospital in rahway, nj - your pets and wallet will thank you.
